What’s Happening in May

“May, more than any other month of the year, wants us to feel most alive.” ~ Fennel Hudson ~

We ran and ran and ran all the way to May! Nice work on the monthly challenge to hit those meter goals. May is upon us and with it, warmer temps and drying winds. Pay close attention to your water intake as we approach the summer months. A good measurement is an ounce of water per degree temperature Fahrenheit. If your weather app says a high 89 degrees, drink 89 oz of water. The hotter it gets, the more you drink. 

May starts us off on a new Wendler cycle for our bench press, back squat, and deadlift. With a barrage of push ups and air squats coming at the end of the month for Murph, we should be more than ready. But wait, what about the pull-ups! Never fear. We’ve got you covered! Our monthly challenge is… you guessed it – pull-ups! Start knocking them out.

Congrats go out to our winner of the quarter for a month of free membership – Turp! Way to knock out those challenges, folks. The top three winners for March’s Rowing challenge were Conor, Maria, and Jamie. 

What to expect:

Rig work galore, cardio, and those weights!

  • Strength/weightlifting – 2-3x’s a week. Our new Wendler cycle starts with a 1RM for Bench, Back Squat, and Deadlift.   
  • Weekly workouts with a focus on Murph prep. (Running, push-ups, pull-ups, and air squats).  
  • Birthday Party WODs – Saturday, May 20th. 
  • Nutrition challenge, posts, and advice. We’ve started a separate nutrition page for our members. PM Coach Deb to join that group. 
  • Saturday Partner WODs.

Another Festivus competition is in the books. Nice work to all teams who participated. A special thanks to all our wonderful volunteers whom without we would not have succeeded. Your attention to detail and exceptional hospitality made the day for our many competitors. Our next Festivus’ Games will be October 21st. Keep an eye out for information on the details for that event soon.

M-F 5AM, 6AM, 7AM, 8AM, 9AM morning classes – starting in June.
M- F 3PM, 4PM, 5PM and 6PM afternoon classes – starting in June.
Saturdays 9AM FREE Partner WOD.
Sundays – Closed.
